Hi Everyone, thanks for visiting our website and an interest in our fundraiser.
I started raising funds for Pediatric Cancer Research way before I could say Pediatric!
It started when one day I went to the Stanford Children's Hospital with my parents. While we were sitting in the lobby waiting, a girl about my age walked by in a hospital gown dragging a red cart. She didn't have any hair. I asked my mom about that and she explained that the girl was likely going through a very painful procedure called Chemo-therapy which caused her to loose her hair. Mom tells me that more questions followed. Mom told me that I could help the little girl if I wanted. I had just started learning guitar at the California Conservatory of Music and my mom talked to my teachers to request a talent show with me and my other classmates in the music school. I also invited my kindergarten classmates to perform. We also did a bake sale and made cards for sale!
We raised over a $1000 and I was so proud to go back to the hospital with my mom and dad and give the money to the hospital in person.
In the last 7 years, we have been able to raise more than $14,400 thanks to a lot of hard work from a lot of kids all over the Bay Area!
